In lieu of this month’s meeting of the Park View United Neighborhood Coalition (UNC), there will be a community meeting convened by the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to discuss the Ty Hopkins basketball tournament.

When: Wed. 3/7, 7-8 p.m.
Where: Park View Rec Center, corner of Warder St. and Otis Pl. (entrance on Warder — meeting will take place in the multipurpose room in the back)
Who: All interested neighbors
The basketball tournament (often abbreviated to “Ty Hop”) has taken place at the Park View Rec Center every summer since 2002, with the exception of 2016. As DPR launches its planning process for the tournament this year, it is seeking community input. Representatives from the Metropolitan Police Department will also be in attendance.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7th at the Park View Rec Center. Questions can be directed to John Stokes of DPR at john.stokes@dc.gov.

The UNC will resume its regular monthly meetings on April 4th.
